Construction of the future CFL Headquarters in Luxembourg-Gare

Located in the heart of Luxembourg City's Gare district, the construction of the future administrative headquarters of CFL (Chemins de Fer Luxembourgeois) is advancing steadily. This large-scale project is entrusted to a temporary joint venture between our company, Félix Giorgetti and Poeckes, reflecting a shared ambition to deliver a modern, functional, and sustainable building that will centralise teams currently spread across several locations.

The new headquarters will rise across 11 floors, including 3 underground levels, covering more than 30,000 m². In addition to office spaces, it will include a reception area, meeting rooms, relaxation zones, and a staff restaurant—all designed to improve employee well-being and encourage cross-functional collaboration at CFL.

A Complex Project in a Dense Urban Setting

The project's architectural complexity lies notably in the careful preservation of certain historical facades, which are being seamlessly integrated into the new structure, while other sections are completely rebuilt. This technical challenge requires exceptional execution precision and showcases the expertise brought to this unique site.

Another major challenge is managing the site within a dense, high-traffic urban environment. Every delivery, material removal, and technical operation is meticulously planned to ensure safety, reduce disturbances, and maintain smooth traffic flow in a rapidly evolving neighbourhood.

A Project Committed to Sustainable Construction

CFL aims for BREEAM "Excellent" certification, one of the highest environmental performance standards. This requires rigorous tracking of construction waste, including precise weight monitoring and distance tracking of truck routes to calculate carbon impact.

The same level of detail applies to all delivered construction materials, with every route accurately logged. This responsible approach is fully aligned with a long-term strategy of sustainable and environmentally friendly construction.

Technical Expertise Serving a Strategic Project

The structural works, launched in 2024, demand high-level technical know-how. Thanks to the complementary expertise of the partner companies, the project challenges are tackled with rigour, efficiency, and a constant commitment to quality.

The CFL headquarters is scheduled for delivery in 2026. This iconic building will become a lasting landmark in Luxembourg-Gare's urban landscape, symbolising both the city’s transformation and CFL's commitment to a sustainable future.
