CDCL is very proud to announce the nomination of the project « Lycée Technique pour Professions de Santé » in Ettelbruck for the European Union Prize for Contemporary Architecture - Mies van der Rohe Award 2019.
The competition, which takes place every two years, highlights and rewards quality architectural designs in Europe. The Prize aims to promote architecture through two essential points :
- The synergy of the architectural environment throughout the continent by responding to transnational commissions
- Support for young people in the architectural field
Composed of independent experts, the jury will choose two great winners. The first one will be recognized for his conceptual, technical and constructive qualities while the second one will be encouraged for his future career.
The Lycée Technique is a positive energy pilot project in which the materials’ choice was made on ballasted columns instead of concrete piles, on a wooden construction or on clay panels for the interior partitions. The objective of this construction is to produce energy in the long term.
All we have to do now is cross our fingers for the competition results!
